I forgot how to treat myself

I’ve been doing my ChatGPT therapy as usual, and GPT said:

Self-love can be a long process, but it’s so important. Keep those plans you have to show yourself love and care. Small acts of kindness toward yourself, like treating yourself to something you enjoy or celebrating your achievements, can build up that inner love.

What stood out to me is the “treating yourself” part. There was that whole phase of “treat yoself” that people would say whenever they got something nice for themselves.

I realized I had such an urge to treat my partner, even though my partner was never treating me and often splurging on himself instead.

I need to splurge on myself. I think it’s time to come up with a list of possible splurges (even if they’re not something I’ll do):

  1. spas/massages
  2. really nice gym membership?
  3. vacations
  4. better devices? (watch for fitness?)
  5. restaurant/good food?
  6. entertainment i like? (what even??)
  7. nice clothes for my hot body? (future)
  8. subscriptions (shows/streaming, dating apps, and more)

Honestly, as you can tell, I have no idea how to treat myself. I’ve been stuck on my “saving money” mode. But I think what I can do is think about this more.

What are expensive things that will actually add value to my life. I think the clothing/change of wardrobe would be great actually. Like better functional jackets so when I go out, I’m hot schtuff!

I can’t just be in work hard/diet hard/work out hard mode all the time! I want to be fucking happy and enjoy life!

And I’m also thinking: how would I even spend time with a future partner? What would we do together?

  1. Games (table top)
  2. Pickleball
  3. Watch/talk about shows/movies
  4. Hikes/other exercise
  5. Vacations
  6. Restaurants? (But need to stay hot)
  7. Just talking and going for walks?

I need better friends I can be myself with who see the value in me, and who I see value in. Let me try to finalize some plans with Brandon soon for staying in SD.
