Trump On COVID-19: Doing The Right Thing For The Wrong Reasons

This CNN article “praises” Trump for finally listening to facts and trying to bring the country together. It almost reads ignorant to the fact that Trump is still Trump: self-obsessed, braggadocios, and pompous.

The reason he is clamming down on halting this virus is for the numbers (ie. death toll and stock market). He is being graded for reelection and these are his self-imposed criteria.

It’s obvious enough: he worried about bringing people from the cruise-ship into the US because they might make his numbers look bad. He doesn’t actually care about the people’s well-being. He cares and has always only cared for #1.

We happened to fall into a lucky coincidence where lower infections and deaths benefits both our public health and his beloved “numbers”.

But we can’t count on that.
